Former Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Knox II has officially joined the Orlando Magic on an Exhibit 10 contract ahead of their training camp. The Magic announced the signing on Wednesday, bringing Knox in for a camp that begins on September 29 under new head coach Sean Sweeney.

An Exhibit 10 deal is a one-year, minimum salary NBA contract that includes an optional bonus for spending time with a team's G League affiliate. It's a common tool for teams to bring players into training camp with flexibility. The Magic's roster currently holds 20 players, with 14 on standard deals, three on two-way contracts, and three, including Knox, on Exhibit 10s. They have one open roster spot for the 2026-27 season.

Orlando's training camp will be held at the AdventHealth Training Center, with media day scheduled for September 28. The team executed several transactions to facilitate Knox's signing, initially inking four other players to Exhibit 10 deals before waiving them. This process provides a financial incentive for those waived players if they join Orlando's G League team.

Knox, the ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, showed promise as a rookie with the New York Knicks, averaging 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. But his role diminished over time. After stints with the Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, and Portland Trail Blazers, he landed with the Warriors for the 2024-25 season.

His time in Golden State was brief. Knox appeared in just 14 games, putting up averages of 3.3 points and 1.2 rebounds. He spent last season with the Windy City Bulls in the G League and did not receive an NBA call-up. At 27, the 6-foot-7 forward will compete for a spot on a Magic roster featuring Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Jalen Suggs.

Knox's departure is a minor footnote for a Golden State organization focused on bigger questions.

The slide included defeats to the Sacramento Kings (124-118 on April 11), the Los Angeles Lakers (119-103 on April 10), and the season-ending loss to the Clippers. This tough finish shows the roster evaluation and potential changes facing the Warriors this offseason. For Kevin Knox, the Orlando Magic camp represents another chance to revive an NBA career that started with high expectations. For the Warriors, the focus shifts to regrouping after a string of late-season losses and building a more consistent contender for the year ahead.
