The Golden State Warriors have officially extended the Steve Kerr era, but they need to make upgrades to their squad. One key area of improvement is at center, where they currently have Charles Bassey, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford. However, none of these players are suitable starters, and all three are unrestricted free agents. The Warriors are reportedly trying to sign LeBron James as a free agent, which could impact their decision on which center to keep. To make something of their new Curry/James era, the Warriors need to lock down the five. Making a move on Domantas Sabonis could do that for them. He is a double-double machine that generates offense when utilized correctly. The Warriors could be the team for that. While Curry gets a lot of credit for his incredible shooting, his playmaking is where he has always had his biggest impact. Very few players can pass the way he can and set up the rest of his team for success. Yes, he is a clutch shot king, but he also needs people to feed under the hoop. Now, add James to that. Sure, he's still the guy to take the shot, but his game has changed over the years. James has, to an extent, become more of a passer and a facilitator as well. He could also benefit from having a guy like Sabonis around, working the paint and pulling down rebounds. Being that the Warriors are reportedly trying to put something big together, they need a center who can keep up. That's Sabonis. He would be a much better fit in San Francisco than he is in Sacramento, considering the direction of both franchises at this time.
